Working principle of ultraviolet sterilization
UVC ultraviolet light with bactericidal effect (mainly 240 nm 280 nm) is used to destroy the molecular structure of DNA (deoxyribonucleic acid) and RNA (ribonucleic acid) of microbial cells, resulting in the death of growth cells and regenerative cells, so as to achieve the effect of sterilization and disinfection.
At present, there are two main light sources of ultraviolet disinfection and sterilization lamp - gas discharge light source and solid-state light source.
Gas discharge light source is mainly low-pressure mercury lamp. Its luminous principle is the same as that of the fluorescent lamp we used before. It excites the mercury atoms in the lamp tube. The low-pressure mercury vapor mainly produces 254 nm UVC ultraviolet (radiation efficiency 30 percent 60 percent ) and 185 nm UVD ultraviolet (radiation efficiency 5 percent 15 percent )
UVC ultraviolet sterilization is effective, but ultraviolet rays can only spread in a straight line and have weak penetration, so there is a blocked disinfection dead corner. Although the 185nm UVD ultraviolet light itself does not have a strong and effective physical sterilization and disinfection effect, it can decompose the oxygen in the air and combine to produce ozone. Ozone has a strong oxidation effect and can reach all corners with the air flow for complete sterilization and disinfection (biochemical oxidation sterilization).
However, too high ozone concentration is harmful to human body and can cause chest tightness and dizziness. Therefore, if you buy an ultraviolet lamp with ozone, you need to open the window for ventilation for 30 60 minutes after sterilization.
The advantages of low-pressure mercury lamp are mature technology and high sterilization efficiency, but its volume is large and there is a small amount of mercury pollution (usually is placed where children can't touch, it's not good to break it).
The difference between ultraviolet lamp bead and quartz glass lamp tube

3. The service life is between 800-3000 hours.
4. The process is special and difficult to make. It contains toxic elements and will cause secondary pollution to the ecological environment after damage.
